\'Idle Women\' - wartime women\'s national service
1947ed.223pgs \'Idle Women\' by Susan Woolfit. A personal but general history of the women taken on during the war for national service on the Inland Waterways or canals. Their nickname derived from the \'IW national service\' badge they wore, IW signifying Inland Waterways but quickly corrupted to \'Idle Women\'. Good, used condtion, bumped corners, lightly marked covers. Interesting wartime history.
