Women's Junior Air Corps Officer's cap badge.
Brass,gilt and enamel pinback badge for wear by officers up to and including the rank of Commandant in the WJAC. This badge was introduced sometime in 1944.
The WJAC was initially formed in November 1939 to promote aviation, provide training, discipline and social activities for girls over 14. Modelled on the Air Defence Cadet Corps it was intially called the Women's Air Defence Cadet Corps but changed to WJAC in April 1940.
This badge in excellent condition with undamged enamel and slight toning to silver.
