First Pattern WVS Arm Badge and Name Tab.
First Pattern, early WVS Civil Defence arm badge and name tab for Croydon. First introduced in 1939, these early pattern badges were embroidered on flannel which was then replaced by felt in 1941. Intended to be worn on the lower part of the right sleeve of either the jacket or overcoat it was sometimes encountered worn on civilian suits. Good, used condition with clear evidence of having been removed from a uniform, uncommon.
