1944 Holidays at Home Suggested Menus Leaflet.
During WW2, all non-essential travel was discouraged in order to conserve fuel supplies and ensure that train accommodation was available for troop transport and other official purposes. Local authorities were encouraged to provide entertainments that would encourage people to take 'Holidays at Home'. In the spirit of this, the Ministry of Food issued a leaflet with suggested menus with a ' holiday ' feel, picnics etc. This gatefold leaflet was printed in August 1944 and covers menus for four people for six days. Good, clean condition and unusual.
