Home Guard Issue Shotgun Cartridges - Solid Ball.

A pair of WD 12 Bore shotgun cartridges widely issued to the Home Guard in an effort to make a shotgun a more effective weapon by making a heavier projectile load. These cartridges were 12 bore spherical ball cartridges which were loaded with a single 16 bore lead ball. Being undersized this allowed it to pass through a choked barrel without damage. They are clearly broad arrow marked to the side of the cartridge and manufactured by Eley-Kynoch. Visibly inert with small hole to reverse wall. Priced individually.
