Chrome and enamel lapel badge for the Clyde River Patrol. The Clyde River Patrol operated in shifts, searching the Clyde for mines and patrolling the docks. Its 14 launches were manned by volunteers from the Northern Yacht Club, under the command of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve. Resisting attempts of a takeover by the Home Guard the CRP remained independent throughout the War during which time 1300 people served. A scarce. pin back badge which is in good, used condition with some light surface abrasions.
