Civil Defence Bomb Reconnaissance Badge.
Printed wartime Civil Defence Bomb Reconnaissance Badge. Worn on the left sleeve these badges were to be worn by CD officers who had passed a regional Bomb Reconnaissance course. The BRO's task was to identify and confirm reports of UXBs with visits before assigning the task to RE BD teams. First established in London Region the system was soon extended to the whole country. Initially those successful candidates had worn an armlet with the same design but the badge was authorised in 1944. In good, worn condition. Scarce and in my experience less common than the armlet.
