Gilded brass lapel badge with half moon fitting for Royal Ordnance Factory No.4. No.3 was R.O.F.Hereford which filled shells.
These badges were introduced in 1940 for workers at the various factories across the UK but were phased out from 1942 because of their consumption of valuable raw materials.
This badge made by T.L.M.Ltd, B'ham and is numbered 1759 to reverse. Dulled guilding to obverse with light rubbing bright to reverse.
