Herefordshire Home Guard BD.
Early '40 Pat. Battledress Blouse bearing the insignia of the 5th Herefordshire ( Ledbury) Battalion Home Guard in the form of printed ' HFD5 ' shoulder insignia . Size 11BD with heavily worn, indistinct label with 1940 WD inspection stamp. Embroidered Home Guard shoulder titles to both arms with white lanyard to r/h shoulder and printed War service chevron to same arm . Both 'HFD ' titles appear to have been taken off, finely overstitched in dark blue cotton and then reattached with some failing of stitching to both titles. . Clean condition with a smattering of very minor moth damage to front and reverse ( 2 x minor holes ) and missing button to l/h pocket . Pocket contains a written platoon list, some 4" x 2" rifle cleaning cloth and the remains of a cigarette.Good original tunic.
