Gilded brass lapel badge within back fitting for Royal Ordnance Factory No.18. No.18 was ROF Burghfield, (Filling Factory No. 18) (later part of the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE)).
These badges were introduced in 1940 for workers at the various factories across the UK but were phased out from 1942 because of the their consumption of valuable raw materials.
This badge made by T.L.M.Ltd, B'ham and is numbered 2357 to reverse. bright guilding to obverse with light rubbing.
