'40 Pat. Battledress Blouse bearing the insignia of the 4th Essex ( Romford ) Battalion Home Guard in the form of printed ' ESX4 ' shoulder insignia . Large size 13 BD to fit for 5ft 11" to 6ft with worn, label indicating manufacture by Dunlop Rubber Co.Ltd with 1942 WD inspection stamp. Sergeant's rank stripes with embroidered Home Guard shoulder titles to both arms and printed War service chevron to same arm indicating four years of service. Red wound stripe to left arm and WW1 medal ribbons to left breast. Good, used condition, slightly grubby interior and with a smattering of small moth holes-2mm max. For a county that had a large number of battalions, uniform survivors are uncommon.
