NFS Women's cap.

National Fire Service women's ' ski ' cap. On general issue from 1943, the reinforced cotton, peaked ski cap was intended to replace the FS style cap for wear on duty when not wearing a helmet.
This cap is in good, used condition, with a smattering of moth nips to underside the peak. Clear evidence of having been worn , more often than not these caps are found in unissued condition. Cap is a size 7 and was made by L.Silberston & Sons in 1943. It features a die-struck NFS cap badge bizarrely sewn to the front of the cap.
