WLA Timber Corps beret badge.
The Timber Corps was a seperate part of the WLA formed in 1942, wearing the same uniform as the WLA but with the addition of a beret with a distinctive and unique badge. By 1946 some 6000 women had served in the woods, forests and timber mills helping to replace drafted timber workers and to help to accomodate the extra demand for timber.
This plastic badge is in good, used condition complete with both blades and maker marked 'A.Stanley & Sons, Walsall. Uncommon.
