Gilded brass lapel badge withal moon lapel fitting for Royal Ordnance Factory No.17. No.17 was ROF Featherstone or Filling Factory No. 17 established in Llanishen, Cardiff. Opening in 1940 for the construction of field guns and other weaponry during World War employing over 20,000 people. These badges were introduced in 1940 for workers at the various factories across the UK but were phased out from 1942 because of the their consumption of valuable raw materials.
This badge made by T.L.M.Ltd, B'ham and is numbered 457to reverse. Good, used condition.
