40 Pat. Battledress Blouse bearing the insignia of the 7th Hampshire( Boscombe ) Battalion in the form of printed ' 7 H ' shoulder titles. Typical of some of the Hampshire battalions these titles were worn horizontally rather than vertically. Size 2 BD to fit for 5ft 3" to 5ft 4" with label indicating manufacture by Ben Williams & Co Ltd with 1941 WD inspection stamp and faint name. Captain's rank with padded Home Guard shoulder titles above ' 7 H ' area titles to both arms with four war service stripes to r/h sleeve. Blouse has ben tailored and altered by the addition of facings to allow for a smarter open collar appearance. These details indicate the owner was probably an ex professional borne out by the medal ribbons which show with an Army LSGC and a Territorial Decoration. In excellent, clean condition with some very minor moth grazes otherwise undamaged. Excellent example.
