Special Constabulary Helmet.

MkII helmet for wear by a Sergeant in the Special Constabulary. Black painted helmet with applied decal of Sergeant rank stripes over hand painted ' POLICE ' and framed ' S C '. These have been executed well possibly by a sign writer. Manufacturer details have been obscured by over painting. Helmet has a MkI, 1939 dated liner by Helmets Ltd, size 6 3/4. Good overall condition with the usual abrasions etc., chinstrap with wear and some rust staining.
