Following the increasing expansion of the Dig for Victory campaign came the necessary need to deal with the produce. Preserving, jam and pickle making etc became popular and a whole industry grew up to supply these needs, these vacuum caps for use to seal jam jars were one of these products. This NOS example has a label warning of the ' Shortage of Steel ' to the front. Good, clean condition with some light marking.
