Food Leader lapel badge.

Brass and enamel, pinback lapel badge for a Ministry of Food ' Food Leader '. Working as a direct link between the MOF and the housewife, Food Leaders sought to educate on food and the ability to use it to the best advantage by passing on tips, distributing leaflets and manning advice centres. Mostly WVS members there were 15,000 by early 1945.
In good, bright condition with undamaged enamel.
