Gilded brass lapel badge with pin back fitting for Royal Ordnance Factory No.8. No.8 was R.O.F Thorp Arch near Leeds which was a filling factory filling shells and bombs with explosives.These badges were introduced in 1940 for workers at the various factories across the UK but were phased out from 1942 because of the their consumption of valuable raw materials.
This badge made by T.L.M.Ltd, B'ham and is numbered 14428 to reverse. Good, clean condition, patinated to reverse.
