Royal Naval Volunteer Wireless Reserve Lapel Badge.
Originally created by the Admiralty in 1935 as the RN Wireless Auxiliary Reserve to organise those in the the Naval reserves who specialised in wireless operation. Often amateur radio hams, members received no uniform but were to hold themselves ready for mobilisation in the event of war. Regularised in early 1939 and renamed RNVWR this lapel badge was issued shortly after . Manufacturer marked ' J.R.Gaunt, London ' and good used condition with bright undamaged enamel.
