Brass and enamel, pinback lapel badge for the Women's Home Defence League. The League was started in 1941 by Dr Edith Summerskill Labour MP for Fulham West London. Women recruits learned basic weapon training and military skills. Manufacturer marked ' Collins, London ' to the reverse and in excellent, bright condition.
