June 1940 ' Local Defence Volunteers ' , 8pg leaflet that was the first in what was to become a series of instructions. This is a significant leaflet outlining the establishment of the LDV in a meeting of the CinC Home Forces General Ironside and leaders of the LDV. The address includes the issue of arms and a call ' not to misjudge the shotgun '. It repeats many of the Fifth Column and Parachutist obsessions that emerged from Holland and France and calls them ' brutes ' . Ex War Office Library and in slightly tired condition.
