Early War Head Warden's Helmet.
White painted, 1939 dated MkII helmet featuring the early diamond rank markings for a Head Warden. These rank markings were made obsolete by a Home Office Security Directive in 1942 in favour of the adoption of standardisation around the stripe system as used by the London Scheme. This example has markings indicating manufacture by Joseph Sankey & Sons of Bilston and features a size 7, MkI liner by Vero dated 1938. Excellent example with some minor abrasions, chips etc.
