WVS ' Post Leader ' Armband.
The WVS Post Leader was a position created by a 1942 decentralisation of the WVS organisation to mirror that of the Warden's service and an encouragement of WVS members to undertake elementary CD training. Thus new posts were created within the WVS Housewives Service with the Post Leader being tasked with liaising with the local Wardens Post. With the 1943 introduction of the grey armband for members of the WVS not in possession of uniform who were engaged on work where ' recognition of status is desirable ', those with appointed tasks had the opportunity to purchase armbands with these tasks indicated. Good, clean condition with War service stripes to one side and a chrome and enamel pin back badge to the other, some minor moth nips to the reverse. Scarce
