Royal Naval War Libraries worker's badge.

Gilt and enamel pin back badge for workers involved in work for the Royal Naval War Libraries. The RNWL was set up to supply books and magazines to smaller war ships that do not carry their own Service Libraries and to RN Shore Establishments. Many of its books came from donations and funding was through the Royal Naval War Amenities Fund. The RNWL also sold paperback fiction books and gramophone records at wholesale prices to ships, messes and shore establishments libraries. It was wound up in 1945 on completion of hostilities.
