Penny Spitfire Badge.

Home made, pin back Spitfire badge. These badges were often made from a Penny, cut, folded and polished with a safety pin soldered to the reverse. Judging from the size, this example was more likely made from a halfpenny. Sometimes sold in aid of war weapons weeks or simply worn as a patriotic keepsake. Good, clean condition and well made, examples are becoming increasingly scarce.
