Uncommon 3rd Renfrewshire ( Newton Mearns ) Battalion Home Guard insignia grouping. Consisting of printed blue/black on khaki Home Guard shoulder titles with screen printed Home Guard shoulder title and Sergeant stripes. Interestingly the titles are as worn with the numeral folded into a triangle and worn surmounting the area letters, a practice that was common amongst some of the Scottish battalions. the battalion became notable for its role in the capture of Rudolf Hess in May 1941.
