2nd Phase Home Guard Commission Document.

Faced with growing military uncertainty and the start of the Cold War in 1952 the Home Guard was reconstituted. Based on previous wartime experience local battalions were raised in skeleton form with training on more modern arms commencing from this date. It was decided that officers in this second phase would be awarded commissions and this example to a 2nd Lt.Kenneth.W.G.Chambers was given in July 1952. Mounted on board, 37 x 28cms approx. with some marking and uncommon.
