43cm x 33cm enamel sign ' WVS Civil Defence ' featuring the WVS CD in red on a white background. Marked ' Franco Signs W.1 ' a manufacturer who were known for their high quality signs and operated form prestigious West End London address in Oxford Street. They made signs for the AA and RAC amongst others. Although this example is ' nibbled ' it is substantially intact and in good condition and uncommon.
