1st, Wartime edition of ' On Guard for England ' by Percy F.Westerman. One of the Blackie's books for boys and girls featuring a colourful d/w illustrating Home Guard members chasing to the scene of a crashing German aircraft. The rest of the book is similarly illustrated in between tales of derring do with the protagonist and his Scout troop throwing in their lot with the Home Guard. Bookplate indicating a school prize in 1942. Good, used condition with some chipping, tears etc to d/w.
