Civilian Respirators assembled by Cadburys.
Unissued Civilian respirators found in an unopened Cadbury's outer carton. Cadburys assembled some 5 million respirators during the war working with suppliers such as J.E.Baxter & Co. and the Leyland and Birmingham rubber company who supplied components. This was typical of the war work undertaken by household names that would not have normally been associated with such industry. These examples, medium size, are in unopened boxes which when opened reveal the mask wrapped in a glassine wrap with a card indicating storage advice. All the masks opened to date are dated 1937. The masks are generally in excellent, dusty condition with a small amount of corrosion to the filter. The filters have not been fitted with the Contex extension.
