Home Guard Cape.
A highly uncommon example of the ' Cape Serge Home Guard '. Introduced in 1940, the capes soon proved to be unpopular and it would appear that most had been withdrawn by 1943. Made of serge with a partial lining and two shoulder straps with internal pockets, button fastening and closures to provide makeshift sleeves. This example in excellent + condition, size ' Medium ' Height 5' 8" to 5' 10" , Chest 40" to 42", made by J.Mandleberg & Co.,Ltd. in 1940. Unlikely to find a better example.
