Sir James Laing & Sons National Service Badge.

Brass and enamel lapel badge for Sir James Laing & Sons National Service. Laings of Deptford Yard, Sunderland were shipbuilders and produced 41 ships during WW2 specialising in tankers. This attractive badge with half moon lapel fitting was made by Thos. Fattorini, B'ham and is in good used condition. Whilst there is no enamel loss there is considerable wear which appears to be a common trait shared by the four badges I have had previously, shipbuilding was a tough life !
