Essex Home Guard Tunic.
'40 Pat. Battledress Blouse bearing the insignia of the 2nd Essex ( Maldon ) Battalion Home Guard. Featuring a heavily worn manufacturer's label dated March 1941 possibly a size 12 - Chest 38ins - 39ins. Features Lieutenant rank insignia and printed Home Guard shoulder titles and ESX 2 area designations with WW1 Trio ribbon bar to left breast. What is particularly appealing about this tunic is the fob whistle to one pocket and the pocket contents - the old soldier's perennial, toilet paper and a pencil, left in the pockets from the day it was last hung up. Excellent, used condition with a small number of very small moth nips.
