American Ambulance Great Britain Sleeve Badge.
Embroidered sleeve badge for the American Ambulance Great Britain ( AAGB ). The AAGB was a gift to the UK from the American community in the UK providing a fleet of ambulances and vehicles for use by surgical and medical teams. Drawing personnel from the MTC and FANY, members wore uniform identical to that of the MTC but with their own insignia. By late 1944 just under 400 women were serving with the AAGB. Badge, which was originally worn on the left arm, in excellent condition with paper backing and clear evidence of having been removed from a uniform.
