The Beaver Club lapel badge and ribbon.
Gilt and enamel, pinback lapel badge for the Beaver Club in London. Staffed mostly by British women, the Club, near Trafalgar Square offered a number of services from haircuts to coffee to Canadian service men. Staff members wore one of two badges, this example being the larger 35mm example, the 1940 date celebrating the foundation of the club. Maker marked J.R.Gaunt, London. This example is mounted onto a medal ribbon with an enamelled bar with a maple leaf motif. In good, used condition with some patination.
