WD 12 Bore shotgun cartridges widely issued to the Home Guard in an effort to make a shotgun a more effective weapon by making a heavier projectile load. These cartridges were 12 bore SG containing 9x8.mm pellets and are clearly broad arrow ' SG ' marked to the side of the cartridge and manufactured by Eley-Kynoch. Printed felt battalion sign worn by the 22nd West Riding of Yorkshire ( Calder Valley )Bn. Featuring a white Yorkshire rose printed on blue over a coloured bar which would indicate the Company, red is believed to be the HQ company . These badges replaced the normal letter/number combination with the neighbouring Calderdale battalion the 21st Bn wearing the same badge with a maroon backing.

Cardboard carton that once contained 25 x 12 Bore cartridges made by Eley-Kynoch. These specific cartridges contained six shot, a heavier load designed for defensive use with shotguns. Carton marked ' War-time issue ' and in generally good used condition with light foxing. read more
