Brass and enamel, pinback badge by Fattorini of Bradford for wear by workers of the Catholic Women's League who ran one of their various canteens for H.M.Forces. Often situated at stations, these volunteer ran canteens dispensed ' chars and wads ' to the myriad of serviceman on the move during the war. Good, overall condition, patinated overall. read more

A pair of WD 12 Bore shotgun cartridges widely issued to the Home Guard in an effort to make a shotgun a more effective weapon by making a heavier projectile load. These cartridges were 12 bore spherical ball cartridges which were loaded with a single 16 bore lead ball. Being undersized this allowed it to pass through a choked barrel without damage.
