Introduced early in the War these goggles were worn by A.R.P. personnel to protect eyes from spitting incendiary devices and bomb splinters. Two types of these goggles are known, this example has a solid bridge with an adjustable strap and foam rubber padding to the interior. Scarce example of the Home Guard issue haversack. Unique to the HG the haversack was made from a rubberised canvas with a single buckle fastening. Clearly dated 1940 and manufacturer marked. Excellent, used condition retaining it's strap adjustment in stitched condition with light marking to reverse. read more
