Air Raid Warden's Helmet.
A particularly clean example of a MkII helmet worn by an ARP Warden. Size 7 1/4, MkI, 1940 dated lining by BMB ( Briggs Motor Bodies ) with a 1941dated shell with unknown maker's markings. Hand-painted ' W '. to both front and back of helmet. With some minor paint loss this remains one of the cleaner examples. read more

The standard German 1kg incendiary bomb dropped on the UK in profusion and the baine of the Civil Defence services. Filled with thermite and made from electron magnesium and intiated by an impact fuze, the I.B. burnt with a fierce heat and intense white light.

Embroidered, cotton on felt armband for the Womens Land Army. This is the basic armband worn on joining, further service with the WLA indicated by the addition of diamonds indicating six months service, in this case, 1 years service is shown. This example in good, used condition, slightly misshapen from wear. read more
