Headquartered in Haslemere, its personnel consisted of scientists, technicians, and civilians in reserved occupations focusing on vital communication and radar support and development. Gas-mask container in the form of a biscuit tin produced by Reads Ltd. of Liverpool. Originally Reads produced these tins for for Elkes Biscuits whose name was impressed in the bottom of the lid. Presumably either having ceased the contract or for reasons of economy this was stopped and this particular example has no name .
