A scarce example of the WW2 ARP Nursing Overall. Blue cotton with fine white stripe, A-line dress with a square collar and belted waist. A separate fabric badge with embroidered red ARP letters was sewn centrally to the chest, this was later replaced by a yellow embroidered ' CD ' . ARP/CD Splinter Goggles.
Introduced early in the War these goggles were worn by A.R.P. personnel to protect eyes from spitting incendiary devices and bomb splinters. Two types of these goggles are known, this example has a solid bridge with an adjustable strap and foam rubber padding to the interior. WLA 2 Year armband - variation.
Felt and cotton, embroidered Women's Land Army armband that appears to be for two years service but without the embroidered diamonds signifying two years service. In good, used condition with minor moth nibbles with evidence of having been worn. read more
Boxed Dunlop ARP lapel badge.
Silver and enamel ARP lapel badge for the Dunlop Rubber Co. Unissued condition, with deep toning contained in it's original box . Brooch fitting to the reverse stamped 'silver'. Box lid grubby otherwise excellent condition. This colour way is believed to denote ' warden ' with a woman's brooch fitting with safety chain. read more
