German 1kg B1E Incendiary Bomb.

The standard German 1kg incendiary bomb dropped on the UK in profusion and the baine of the Civil Defence services. Filled with thermite and made from electron magnesium and intiated by an impact fuze, the I.B. burnt with a fierce heat and intense white light.'
This example has clearly been cleaned and bears residual markings to body an clear markings to nose. Original paint to tail with stamped inspection marks. Unusually it is also stamped ' INERT CAR 656 EOD ' indicating use by the RAF EOD unit based at Cardington. Also has a hole drilled to the tail to enable a visual check for the presence of the small charge that some IBs contained.
