LDV Armband.

Official issue ' armlet ' for issue to the Local Defence Volunteers. Printed on khaki, this pattern of armband was issued from May 1940 to be worn on the right arm in lieu of uniform. The intially slow delivery was made up for by a multiplicity of home made versions.

In very much ' out of the shed ' condition this 1939 dated MkII helmet by Harrison Brothers & Howson of Sheffield bears the London Region or post Standardisation rank of ' Rescue Party Supervisor '. Fitted with a size 7, MkI liner by J.Compton Sons & Webb Ltd dated 1939. Chinstrap in a/f condition. Would reward a careful clean.  read more
