Mixed insignia and paperwork grouping to Fireman Dennis Lillie a resident of Catford. Lillie was a member of No.37 Fire Force based at Eltham which covered S/E London. Grouping consists of NFS 37 printed breast badge, NFS cap badge and Defence medal and a quantity of paperwork including his Certificate of Service, various correspondence and interestingly a full NFS kit list. read more

Brass and enamel, pin back badge for Hertfordshire Youth Service, manufacturer marked ' H.W.Miller, B'ham '.Early in the war many local authorities sought to involve young people in working for the war effort. The increasing formation and growth of the pre-service organisations caused these groups to decline. In good, used condition, patinated overall with some surface abrasions. read more

The 35th City of London ( Hackney ) Btn Home Guard wore their shoulder titles in a unique way as in this example. Titles were mounted onto a shield shape piece of cloth before application to the uniform. Also included was a coloured square of cloth ( black and brown have been noted ) whose exact meaning is currently under debate and is possibly thought to be a Company designator.
