Die-struck, pin back badge issued by the Ministry of Aircraft Production on the cessation of Swordfish production in 1944. Manufactured by Walker & Hall Ltd., of Sheffield, these badges were presented to everyone involved in the production of Swordfish. Firex Grenade Fire Extinguisher.
Boxed Firex Grenade fire extinguisher. Fire Grenades were filled with carbon tetrachloride, which at room temperature is a liquid but when heated to about 76C becomes a gas. The gaseous carbon tetrachloride has a higher density than air so it sinks and helps smother the flames.
