Momento of the Royal Visit to Hull August 1941.
1941, 20pg brochure detailing the royal visit by the King and Queen to the City of Hull in August 1941. With a dedication by the Chief Warden, this largely pictorial title shows their Majesties inspecting the CD forces and the damage inflicted to the City throughout 1940 and 1941 with the most recent heavy raid the previous month. Silver gilt and enamel, pin back lapel badge for the King's Own Regiment Prisoner of War Comforts Committee. Handsome badge in the regimental colours for use by those providing comforts for troops of this regiment languishing in POW camps. Excellent, bright condition, no damage but has an enamel flaw at 9 O'clock. read more
