Wolseley on National Service Lapel Badge.

Gilt and enamel on National Service badge for the well known vehicle manufacturer Wolseley. Pinback fitting marked ' Thos Fattorini, B'ham ' and numbered to the reverse. During WW2 Wolseley were heavily involved in wartime contracts building everything from tanks, Bren Gun carriers and a range of vehicles. Good, used condition with rubbing to gilt finish and light abrasions to enamel. Scarce.  read more

Cast in 1945 in metal ' from German aircraft shot down over Britain 1939-1945 ' the bell features a prominent ' V ' on the handle and relief images of the ' Big Three ' leaders, Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin. Gilt and enamel, pinback lapel badge for the Northumberland & Durham War Needs Fund. Probably worn by a collector or Fund worker, manufactured by Fattorini of Bradford.
