Reprinted from the Times newspaper this leaflet gives a copy of the King's broadcast to the Home Guard on the announcement of their stand down in December 1944. The speech thanks the Home Guard for their ' steadfast devotion ' which had ' helped much to ward off the danger of invasion '. Good used condition with some creasing, marking and rust marking.

Vickers Armstrong Company Home Guard Cap Badge.
Vickers Armstrong, the large armaments company which had various factories throughout the UK from Barrow in Furness, Castle Bromwich to Weymouth, sought permission for it's own design of cap badge to be worn by the Home Guard units raised by it's employees.
