This example is a 1941 sealed pattern used by the Post Office Stores Dept. that produced much of the cloth insignia for the Civil Defence services. Civil Defence pattern helmet mounted lamp. This type of lamp was designed to be clipped onto the rim of the standard MkII helmet with the battery pack worn on the belt.
